The correlation between the emergence of the two major algae groups responsible for shellfish poisoning and the environmental conditions of Otsuchi bay, Iwate

We conduct monitoring of toxic algae causing shellfish poisonig and sampling of sediments to know the biomass and distribution of algal cyst.
We also try to understand the environmental variation in the bay based on CTD and buoy measurements, to seek its correlation with annual change in algal biomass and composition.
Additionally, we are planning on running a particle tracking experiment to reproduce the dynamics of toxic algae in the bay.
